See what County Sligo has to offer
Sligo sits on the Atlantic coast with many beaches nearby - and the water is a lot warmer than the Pacific! It boasts a magnificent variety of mountain, lake, wood and coastline. It's a great place to visit if you are interested in walking, sight-seeing, hill-walking, Irish-music, surfing.

The town is rich in traditional music and culture. Around Sligo are many beautiful lakes, especially Lough Gill and Glencar.

Within a 10 minute drive you can hill walk, see eagles up close, explore underground caves, walk around a few castles or play golf with the Atlantic ocean below.

Overlooking the town is the magnificent table-top mountain of Benbulben; where beneath its shadow is the grave of WB Yeats at Drumcliffe churchyard.

This is WB Yeats' "Land of Hearts Desire", where he and his brother Jack, found inspiration.

You can easily visit Northern Ireland too - Enniskillen is a lovely town built around a lake and river system. Belfast is an easy day trip.
